TikTok Made Me Buy It!

How many of you have been scrolling through your feed on TikTok and you end up seeing a bunch of creators reviewing the same products over and over again? I don’t know about you, but for me, I find it super hard to resist trying things that I see other people are raving about. So I’ve made some good and some not-so-good purchases over the past year based on what TikTok-ers think and I’ve decided to let you know my thoughts to help you make your own decisions on these trendy products!

#1 Dr. Jart Cicapair tm Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment (SPF 30)

Now this one was my first “big” purchase from TikTok. I’m sure you may have seen hundreds of beauty reviewers trying out this “green cream” and raving about how great of a job it does color correcting. So did I! So, what did I do? I darted over to Sephora and bought the stuff! For $50, no less.

Now this cream is a green to beige color correcting cream that is to correct blemishes and red spots on your skin and protect it from the environment. I will say, this product definitely does do that! However, I didn’t like the consistency or the way it felt on my skin for me to use this on a daily basis. The way it sat on my skin was like I was wearing an oily sun screen all day and while it definitely took the redness out of my skin, it couldn’t be used in place of foundation or the rest of my regular make-up. The smell of the product was also something I wasn’t a fan of, it has a distinct lemongrass smell that lasts all day. I’m not a fan of wearing scented product on my face – especially as a moisturizer. Because of the consistency of the product and the oiliness, it also caused me to break out, which doesn’t happen often for me with products and I don’t have sensitive skin.

So for me, this product was a miss. I would recommend this product to someone who has dry, blotchy skin and someone who doesn’t typically wear foundation or make-up, but wants to color correct.

L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Foundation in a Powder

This was a simple purchase for me, as a long time user of L’Oreal’s liquid version of this foundation. I saw tons of reviews on TikTok about this powder foundation and figured I might as well give it a try. They’re about $15 so I bought 2 different shades, one to use when I’m a bit tanner and one to use on regular days.

I used to use powder foundations as a staple years ago, but switched to liquid, just because I really like the coverage of a liquid foundation and the way it feels and lays on my skin a lot better. But, I do keep a powder foundation laying around to grab on days where I want to just do a quick natural look. This foundation works great for that!

The coverage is a medium coverage, and it comes with an application sponge in the compact which I usually use to apply the product, but you can also use a brush. The powder goes on very smooth and sits on my skin well. I will say, that if you are someone who has dry skin – this wouldn’t be the product for you since it has a matte finish and may cause some creasing or patchiness. I have combination skin, so I mainly use this when I’m doing a lot of virtual meetings, not when I plan to be doing a lot of in-person communication.

Overall, I feel like L’Oreal really makes some great foundations both powder and liquid, so I would recommend this product and would definitely buy it again.

Cinema Secrets Professional Makeup Brush Travel Kit – Quick Drying Rinse-Free Formula

I will just start by saying this is my all-time favorite TikTok purchase so far! I am someone who hates cleaning my make-up brushes, and so I am always trying to find the absolute easiest way to do it. This stuff is freaking magic.

So, unlike the other two purchases above, I didn’t actually see 100 videos of the same product review to make me buy it, instead I saw this one girl use this stuff one time and I decided that I HAD to try it.

The kit I bought was a travel kit (small enough for me to just give it a try) and it came with the make-up brush cleaner and tin. I found it on Amazon, but I’m sure you can find it other places. The travel kit was $10. Once I got the product, I’m not going to lie, I was super skeptical because it’s kind of oily and has a similar consistency to nail polish remover. It also doesn’t have the best smell. It quickly made me change my mind!

All you need is to pour a little bit into the tin and twirl your brush around in the formula for a few seconds. Wipe the brush onto a towel to get the makeup and the cleaner out of the bristles and you’ll literally be amazed – the brushes looked brand new AND they were practically dry! In about 5 minutes all of my brushes were clean. I highly recommend this product.

More to come!

5 Bronzers You Can’t Live Without

If you’re like me, a good contour can really make you feel like you have it all together. I’m always on the quest to find the perfect bronzer, but to get that perfect shade, formula, feel, and one that’ll last all day seems nearly impossible! Well, you’re in luck, in my quest to find the perfect bronzer I’ve found my fair share of good and bad.

5) Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer – This bronzer lives up to its name – it’s buttery, it’s smooth, and it wears really well! In my quest to find the perfect bronzer, I definitely tried many drugstore brands. This one is by far my favorite drugstore bronzer. For less than $15 you get a large pot with so much product. The formula has an amazing tropical smell that’s not overpowering. It wears well, not patchy, and it lasts all day. I highly recommend this bronzer.

4) Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer – This bronzer is amazing and it’s definitely my stand-by. I’ve used this bronzer for years and it’s tough to find one that’s similar. I really enjoy the packaging and I feel like you get a decent amount of product. The application is smooth and not patchy. It is long wearing and comes in several different shades. They also make a similar product in blush an highlight. The price tag is a bit steep, which is why it’s not higher on my list at $30, but they do sell a mini version for half the price that also lasts a decent amount of time.

3) Kylie Cosmetics Bronzer – This bronzer is my current go-to. This bronzer is pretty amazing. The packaging is very simple, which I like very much. For a Kylie Cosmetics product, this bronzer also comes with a reasonable price tag, around $15. I’ve also used this bronzer almost daily for over 6 months and I still have a ton of product left – so you get a great amount of product for the price! This bronzer goes on smooth, lasts basically all day, and there is a great range of colors.

2) KKW Beauty Creme Contour Stick – While this isn’t specifically a bronzer, this contour stick is literally like butter. It’s the smoothest application I’ve ever found. The only reason this isn’t my #1 is because while it wipes on smoothly, it doesn’t have the same wearability as the others and I find that I typically need to apply a lot of the product to make it stay all day. The price tag is a little steeper as well for the amount of product you get, but it’s worth it in my opinion coming in around $18.

1) Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick – This is my all-time favorite bronzer/contour. The formula is smooth, it lasts literally all day long, it’s easy to apply, and the product literally lasts forever it seems. Now, this one comes with a decent price tag at $25, but it’s totally worth it. I use this almost every single day, and I’ve had this product for at least 5 or 6 months. I just really enjoy how easy it is to apply. The packaging is also super cute and comfortable during application. If you buy the trio (highlight, bronzer, and shimmer) the applicator is magnetized so they all connect together and super easy for travel!

ColourPop Lippie Haul & Swatches!

ColourPop Lippie HaulHey everyone! If you’ve been here for a while, then you already know that I’m obsessed with ColourPop and especially their lip products! So, recently they’ve launched a couple of new lip products and formulas and I wanted to try them all out! I purchased a wide variety of formulas and I have swatched them all below.

ColourPop Lippie Haul Swatches

First up we have two Ultra Satin formulas: Lyin’ King and Panda. I have others of the Ultra Satin formula and I have to say that the Ultra Satin formula is my absolute favorite out of all of the lippie products ColourPop has to offer. Some of the things that make it my favorite are that they are still somewhat matte looking when applied, they are super long lasting, and they don’t dry your lips out the way the matte formulas do.

Next we have two of the original Lippie Stix in a Sheer formula: Whip and Tiger. These two are a more glossy formula, and because they are sheer, they aren’t super opaque. As you can see above, Whip is much more pigmented than Tiger, but they both have great color payoff. If you’re not looking for heavy color, these are a definite go-to.

Next we have two of the new Matte X formula: Back Up and Barely There. The Matte X Lippie Stix are a more recent formula as well. They’re very matte – even more so than the Ultra Matte Liquid Lip formulas. I have to say that I don’t reach for these two as much as the others, one reason is that if you have any lip “imperfections” meaning chapped or dry lips, these will show every single flaw and almost emphasize them. They are also super drying. The color payoff of this formula is amazing though.

Next we have another original Lippie Stix in a pearlized formula: Wet. I purchased this one because I realllly wanted to get some Ultra Metallic Lippies, but they were all sold out at the time and this one was the next best thing to a metallic formula. This color is interesting for sure! It’s almost a copper color with a gray undertone. I love it.

Last but not least, we have the newest additions to the ColourPop lip collection, Ultra Glossy Lip: Piranha and Finders Keepers. At the time I ordered these lippies, they were offering a promotion that if you purchased a certain dollar amount, you would receive a free sample glossy lip. So, I chose these two colors. I absolutely love both of these. The formula is amazing, it isn’t sticky or thick and you barely notice you are wearing a gloss. Piranha is a sheer finish and Finders Keepers is a crème finish, which means it has more color payoff. Since this haul, ColourPop just launched their full collection of Ultra Glossy Lips and I will definitely be purchasing some additional colors and formulas also!

That’s it guys! Do you love ColourPop lippies just as much as I do? Tell me what your favorites are below in the comments!

Oval Makeup Brush Set Review

Oval Brush Set ReviewHey everyone! If you’re like me, you’ve probably been seeing these oval brushes everywhere and you’ve probably also been wondering if they’re worth the hype.

So, I decided I would take the plunge and try them out for myself. I did some research, and I watched some YouTube videos of some reviews and I finally decided to buy mine from Amazon.  The set I chose to purchase was about $13.00 for the set, plus shipping. They are shipped from China, so if you want them tomorrow, you won’t want to get this particular set – but there are PLENTY of others to choose from :).

The brushes themselves are black and have a brown synthetic hair brush. My set included 10 brushes in total. They range in size and shape from small and thin to large and more oval shaped.

Application: I have tried both liquid foundation and crème foundation with these brushes so far. I have to say, I was blown away at the way these  brushes applied my liquid foundation! I pumped two pumps of my Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin foundation on one of the medium sized brushes and rubbed it on my face in a circular motion. It truly applied the foundation so flawlessly that I was immediately hooked!

I have also used some of the smaller brushes for contouring with my ColorPop Bronzer and SuperShock blush. They work well for applying hard lines and then for blending out as well.

Do I think these are worth the hype? Yes, I would absolutely recommend. I would caution that there are some brushes that are made of fibers that can be rough on the skin, so make sure you are purchasing a brand that is made with either synthetic hair or a soft fiber.

Have you guys tried these? Do you like them? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Sinful Colors – King Kylie Collection

Sinful Colors King Kylie Signature Collection Review

Hey everyone! Over the weekend I finally decided to try out the Sinful Colors King Kylie Collection 2 step Sinful Shine Gel nail polishes. I’ve never used Sinful Colors before, so I’m not familiar with their regular formulas, but I am definitely familiar with MANY other brands and am ready to give you all my take on these!

The Gel polishes are a two step process. I purchased a white color with subtle iridescent glitter (Koko-Nuts) and the top coat.

Packaging: First off, packaging is really nice. The bottles are a normal size and the lids/handles are a metal-looking silver. The brush is a little shorter and thicker for my liking, but still did a good job of holding polish and applying evenly.

Consistency: The consistency of the polish itself is comparable to that of China Glaze or Essie. I find those two brands to have a thinner formula that will most definitely need more than 1 coat.

The process:
Step 1 – apply the color nail polish first. In my case, I applied 3 coats of Koko-Nuts to my nails. I let the coats dry for about 1-2 minutes between each.
Step 2 – apply the top coat. I applied one coat of the clear top coat. The top coat took a little while to dry, but not too long.

I also topped mine off with my all-time favorite top coat (Seche Vite) because I felt that there wasn’t quite enough shine like I like to have with just the Sinful Colors polish.

Wear: Once the polish dried I could tell it was going to stay on, if you know what I mean! So far, I have had the polish on for 3 days and it’s still in tact. I’ve been to the gym, cleaned my bathroom, done some laundry, and it’s still going strong. I’m typically pretty tough on my nail polishes, so, I definitely give this a thumbs up for long wear so far.

Have you ever tried a Sinful Colors polish? Let me know in the comments below!

Sephora (mini) Haul!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my Sephora mini Haul purchases with you today. Since I was trying to avoid spending my entire life savings at Sephora over the weekend, I managed to only purchase 4 things this time around :).

Sephora Mini Haul

Benefit Cosmetics: How to Look the Best at Everything – this kit is everything. I really wanted to find something that had everything I wanted in it and this kit truly has everything you need to get that perfect look. The kit includes The POREfessional Face Primer, the Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW foundation, Boi-ing concealers in two different shades, and Hello Flawless powder. The kits come in Light, Medium, and Deep. I chose Medium for my skin tone since it is going to be summer soon and I’ll hopefully be getting some color. All items in this kit are a sample size, so you’re able to basically try everything out to see if you really like it in the collection before investing in the full-size products. This kit would also be really great for travel purposes. If you’re someone who is new to makeup or isn’t really sure how to apply each of the products or where, the kit also comes with a little tips and tricks booklet that is attached to the top of the kit. This kit was about $34 at my Sephora. The products are amazing, and I love the quality. As some of you may know, I’m always on the quest to find new foundation products and that perfect foundation. Benefit killed it – this kit is awesome!

Sephora: Wonderful Cushion foundation – this is a great light coverage foundation. I found this on the sale rack, but I really do like this product. This is a great product that I’ve been using as a light foundation for those days that I don’t want a full-coverage look. I’m loving it. This was on sale at my Sephora for $12, however, I also believe this product is discontinued. If you can find it, I do suggest picking one up before you can’t get them anymore!

Sephora: Beauty Amplifier Lip Plumper – this product is a great clear gloss that adds both shine and plumps your lips. I’ve been wearing this as a stand alone product, but it would be great over a lippie also. This product was $16 at my Sephora. It’s a huge tube so it’s totally worth the price. The applicator is a doe foot applicator and the product lasts for a pretty decent amount of time when wearing. It is a gloss, so it has the wear time of most glosses on the market.

Urban Decay: All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray – this spray.. I can’t even. This spray is amazing. There are no other words. I’ve tried other makeup setting sprays in the past, but I hadn’t ever tried this one (not sure why). This weekend, I decided to pick one up. This truly does exactly what it claims to do. The setting spray is used after you’ve applied all of your makeup and when you want it to stay on your face as you have just applied, for the entire day (or night). This spray allows your makeup to stay put for 16 hours. This spray is about $30 for the full sized bottle, but they also offer a travel size at around $10.

That’s it for this mini haul. What favorite products are you loving at Sephora?

May Favorites!

Hey everyone! Today’s post I’m going to share with you some products I’ve been loving this month.

May Favorites

At the top of this month’s list is my new favorite foundation. As I’ve mentioned before, I am always on the quest to find that perfect foundation. I think I may have just come close to finding it! Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin foundation is absolutely amazing. I think the reason I love this so much is because it contains skin transforming properties. I have combination skin, some areas are dry and other areas get oily, so finding a foundation that can really live up to the hype and do what it says is a winner in my book. I have found that it is applied best with a beauty blender or a sponge and not a foundation brush. I feel like the brushes just sort of leave the product laying on the skin and the sponges press the product into the skin, which is what I’m looking for. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to switch up their liquid drugstore foundation. Check out my Top Drugstore Foundations! post for other foundations that are on my go-to list.

My next favorite is my ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Spritz. I absolutely love ColourPop’s Ultra Satin Lips, but this month I’ve been really gravitating towards this color. It’s a great spring shade and the Ultra Satin Lips feel really great on your lips all day and they’re a long-wear formula so you won’t need to keep reapplying all day.

I’ve also been loving CoverGirl‘s Collab with Katy Perry, the Katy Kat Matte lipsticks. I purchased two colors: Sphynx and Kitty Purry. These are a really nice, affordable matte lip product. They’re not long-wearing or anything, but they smell wonderful and there are such a wide variety of shades to choose from. They go on very well and you can apply to your preferred level of opaqueness to get the look you’re going for. They are also really comfortable and not drying at all like some matte lip products can be. Sphynx is a great nude shade and can go with literally any look and Kitty Purry is a beautiful purple-toned color that is great for spring/summer looks.

Finally, I’ve been really loving an essential oil blend I’ve been using this past month each night. I created a blend with doTerra Grapefruit, Vetiver, Frankincense, and Lavender. In a glass dropper bottle, I added about 15 drops of Grapefruit, 5 drops of Vetiver, 5 drops of Frankincense, and 10 drops of Lavender then I filled the rest of the bottle up to about 3/4 of the way full with my Grapeseed Oil as a carrier oil. I’ve been using this blend on my stomach at night. Grapefruit is great for toning skin/firming skin and helps with night time food cravings, Vetiver and Lavender are great calming oils that are great for night time before bed. Lavender is also really good for the skin. Frankincense is a great oil for practically every single thing, but it is also really good for the skin and stretch marks and any kind of imperfection of the skin. I drop about 4-6 drops onto my skin and rub it in. I notice that my skin is getting a little firmer and it definitely has become a part of my nightly routine if for no other reason than it smells great and is really relaxing.

That’s it for this month! What products are you loving right now? Let me know in the comments below!

Ipsy Bag Review.. May!

May Ipsy Bag Review

Hey everyone! Today we’re going to talk about what I received in my May Ipsy bag. Not sure if Ipsy is for you? Read my post from my Ipsy Glam Bag Unboxing! post where I tell you all about it!

This month’s bag is a cute little envelope shape snap front bag. It’s coral, which is such a wonderful Spring color, and it has white buildings and landmarks on it. It’s really cute and it’s a decent size for a makeup bag.

In my glam bag this month, I received Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Natural Lip Color in Coral. This is a nice lip balm, that provides great moisture. It’s slightly shimmery, so it makes it more interesting than a typical balm.

I also received Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio. This is a great little eye shadow kit! The colors are really light and on the warm shade sides. Each of the colors in this trio are shimmery. There is a lighter shade, which is great for the upper lid near the brow line. There is a more red shade that is great for the crease of the lid. There is a darker more purple shade that is great for the outer crease if you wanted to create a slight smoky eye with this trio, you definitely could do that.

Next we have Glamour Dolls Blending Brush #10 Sperm Whale Edition. This brush – I can’t. I absolutely LOVE this brush. First of all, the handle is so super cute it is bright blue and covered in little white sperm whales (hence the name). The bristles are super soft. This brand is cruelty free, so the bristles are synthetic. I have been using this brush as a blending brush for my shadows since I received it earlier this month. I definitely think this little guy is earning a place in my daily routine!

I also received Etat Libre d’Orange Remarkable People Fragrance. I’ve taken the Ipsy quiz and reviewed similar fragrance products before and have said that I just don’t want these, but they still slip one in every once in a while. I don’t have an issue with perfumes, but I feel like scents are just something that I want to pick for myself. So, I don’t enjoy this fragrance and I haven’t used it. It is very strong and way too overpowering for my liking. Someone else may love it, but it just isn’t for me! This is just one thing about Ipsy that I will continue to recommend – if you don’t like something, make sure you review the products and/or retake the quiz so they can get it right for you!

Finally, I have saved the best for last, Smashbox X-Rated Mascara. I’d consider myself a mascara addict. I cannot and will not leave my house without applying mascara (even if I have no other makeup on, you can bet I’m wearing mascara). I am in love with this brand and I really love this formula. This is a great mascara for anyone who is looking for length and subtle volume. I like the way this makes my lashes look and I would definitely consider purchasing the full-size version of this product in the future.

So, that’s it for this month! Do you subscribe to Ipsy? Let me know what you received in the comments below!

April Ipsy Bag Review

Hey everyone! Today we’re going to talk about my April Ipsy glam bag. This post is a little late, but I wanted to make sure I had used each of the products and could give a full-review for you guys!

This month’s bag was very cute, I love that it’s getting closer and closer to Summer, because colors keep getting brighter and brighter! This month’s bag was teal with a bit of a tie-dye look to it with yellows and oranges throughout.

April Ipsy Glam Bag

Here is what I received this month:

Nth Degree: Moroccan Argan Oil and Keratin Hair Serum – this product is pretty great for someone who has curly/frizzy hair that wants to be able to straighten their hair completely without the damage. I’ve used this product a couple of times. I can’t say that it would replace any of my current products in my routine, but it smells nice and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling sticky or greasy.

Tarte: LipSurgence Lip Crème in Wonder – I absolutely love this brand. So, I was instantly excited that this item ended up in my glam bag this month. This color, however, is not for me! The formula of this product is very creamy and has a nice smooth finish that leaves your lips feeling soft and hydrated. It also has a slight glossy finish to it. The color payoff is very nice as well.

Luxie Beauty: Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522 – I’m not one of those people who will go out and buy really expensive makeup brushes (I typically use e.l.f. brand brushes). So, when I can get them through Ipsy, it makes me pretty happy. I’ve been using this brush for a couple of weeks now with my ColourPop Super Shock Cheek highlighter in Smokin’ Whistles. I really like this brush, it gently dusts the highlight on to your face. The bristles are really soft and dense enough where the brush does a good job of picking up the pigment from the product as well. I recommend this brush, it’s become a part of my beauty routine.

Probelle: Nail Lacquer in “In or Out” – This nail polish is a really cute shade of polish. The formula is a bit thin and wet, which I typically don’t enjoy. However, the one thing that I was impressed with was that even though it was a thin product, the first coat was almost completely opaque. I’ve had the polish on for about a week now and it just started to chip, so it lasts a long time too. I don’t know that I would seek this specific brand out to buy on my own, but I am definitely enjoying my sample!

Starlooks: Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold – I have saved my least favorite for last. This product is a liquid eye shadow that comes in a tube. The consistency is similar to that of a lip gloss product. The color was really pretty, however, the actual formula of this product was not something I could get over. When you apply the liquid product to the lid with the doe foot applicator, it remains a liquid for quite some time before it dries. So, therefore, if it isn’t completely dry before you open your eye, your eyelids will stick (bottom lid to top of lid) and then when you blink the still-tacky shadow will transfer from one part of the lid to the other. I tried waiting long enough for the shadow to dry completely as well, but it took forever and just wouldn’t be practical. It also cracked and crumbled on the lid when dry. I didn’t keep this product and I also wouldn’t recommend.

Have you guys signed up for Ipsy yet? What did you get this month? Let me know in the comments below!

Top Drugstore Foundations!

Top Drugstore Foundations

Hello! I hope everyone had a great week this week! Today I wanted to share with you my top picks for Drugstore Foundation products. I’m always on the quest to find the perfect foundation (drugstore brand or not) so, I’ve definitely tried out my fair share of products before coming up with those that made this list.

Rimmel London: Lasting Finish – this is a great matte finish foundation. This is a liquid foundation that is full/medium coverage. My favorite part about this foundation is that it is a long lasting finish (25 hours according to the packaging). I can’t say that I’ve ever left it on my face for 25 whole hours, but it does definitely last all day while at work. This product contains a comfort serum, so it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything at all! I apply this foundation with a damp beauty blender and it goes on flawlessly.

COVERGIRL + Olay: Simply Age Less – this foundation is a really great foundation if you’re looking for fuller coverage and something to moisturize your skin while hiding any flaws (aka wrinkles). I love how easy this is to apply, I use the little sponge that comes with it in the case and it glides right on. The formula dries to a demi-matte finish. This formula also contains sunscreen, so you are getting a ton of benefits other than just a great looking foundation when you wear this.

Neutrogena: Healthy Skin Compact Makeup – this foundation creates a great light coverage makeup look. I love how healthy this foundation makes my skin feel both while and also after I wear it. This formula does not dry to a matte finish, it does stay a bit moist on the skin, but it does also contain sunscreen. I apply this with either the sponge it comes with or a foundation brush in order to get even coverage, since it is not a full-coverage foundation. I recommend this foundation for a more natural makeup look.

Revlon: Colorstay Whipped – this foundation is by far one of my favorites for a total glam look. This is truly a full coverage foundation. It is a cream/whipped formula, so I apply with a foundation brush and/or with a damp beauty blender to get an even application. This formula is another 24 hour formula, and it definitely does last all day. Another positive about this foundation is that it seems to do a great job of hiding my pores, which is always a great added bonus!

I’d love to hear your favorite drugstore foundation products! Share below in the comments!
